There are two primary routes to studying at a German public university.
Direct University Admission
Students may qualify for direct admission depending on:

Graduate applicants are evaluated based on their bachelor's degree, academic background, GPA, and program prerequisites.
Studienkolleg Foundation Program
Students whose secondary education does not meet Germany's direct university entrance requirements may first complete a Studienkolleg.
The pathway generally includes:
German language preparation
Studienkolleg entrance examination
Approximately one year of foundation study
Passing the Feststellungsprüfung (FSP)
