Thailand allows spouses and children of Student Visa (ED Visa) holders to apply for a Non-Immigrant O Visa as dependent family members.

Recently, a Thai E-Visa application for a Non-Immigrant O Dependent Visa was approved for a family member accompanying a student in Thailand.

The Non-Immigrant O Visa is commonly issued to immediate family members of individuals holding long-term visas, including education visas. This visa category allows eligible dependents to reside in Thailand while the primary visa holder continues their studies.

Applicants are typically required to submit supporting documents such as:

  • Passport

  • Relationship documents (marriage certificate or birth certificate)

  • Student's enrollment or admission documents

  • Student visa-related documentation

  • Additional supporting documents requested by the Thai authorities

Following approval, the electronic visa approval letter is issued via email and can be presented together with the passport upon arrival in Thailand.

Thailand continues to be a destination for international education, language study, and international school enrollment, leading many families to utilize dependent visa pathways while accompanying students during their educational programs.
