One of our students recently received TAG admission from UC Davis, and this early result plays an important strategic role in the student’s overall UC transfer plan.
For this student, prerequisite alignment was particularly critical due to the structure of their intended major. UC Davis releases TAG results earlier than most campuses, so we selected Davis intentionally to:
Confirm prerequisite completion
Verify English Composition and Math timing
Evaluate GPA consistency
Check for any potential risks before submitting applications to multiple UC campuses
The student was admitted, confirming that the academic plan we designed is accurate and fully aligned with UC requirements.
Why this early result matters
While TAG is often referred to as “guaranteed admission,” the guarantee only applies when every condition is satisfied—including GPA, required courses, English Composition, Math, and major-specific prerequisites. Many students lose TAG eligibility due to minor timing issues or overlooked course requirements.
At Kim Consulting, we conduct a detailed curriculum review that includes:
Full prerequisite analysis
UC-transferable course planning
GPA and workload management
Quarter-by-quarter risk assessments
TAG campus selection strategy
UC Application review and correction
This UC Davis result confirms that the student is on the right track. As long as they complete the remaining planned courses and maintain GPA, we expect strong outcomes from the other UC campuses as well.
We look forward to supporting the student through the remainder of the UC transfer process and ensuring a smooth path toward their final campus selections.
