UCLA Transfer Waitlist to Admission: Recent Student Success

A recent Kim Consulting Inc. student was admitted to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) after initially being placed on the transfer waitlist.

The student received a final admission offer in late May 2026 and was admitted to the College of Letters and Science.

According to the admission letter, UCLA reviewed a transfer applicant pool of more than 30,000 students during this admission cycle.

For transfer applicants, UCLA considers a range of factors including academic performance, completion of major preparation coursework, extracurricular involvement, and application essays.

A waitlist decision does not represent a final denial. Universities may continue reviewing waitlisted applicants after the initial decision release as enrollment numbers become clearer.

Additional admission offers can be extended when spaces become available.

This case highlights an important aspect of the transfer admission process: applicants placed on a waitlist may still receive an admission offer later in the cycle.
